CHARLOTTE, NC – Bosch Rexroth, a leading manufacturer of factory automation solutions, will be expanding its operations in Charlotte with a $58 million, 227,500-square-feet customizing and research and development facility to be developed by SunCap.
The project site is at Tyvola Road’s intersection with Interstate 77. SunCap began working on the property during the third quarter of 2021 with the expectation that it would be a prime site for a large corporate user, but also understanding the challenging nature of this site. The real estate was formerly a municipal landfill for the City of Charlotte and has sat vacant for over 40 years.
Senior vice president, Paxton Hollar, commented, “At this location, SunCap saw the opportunity to unlock an environmentally challenging site to meet the growing market demand for well-located corporate industrial use. We are fortunate to have experience executing on numerous similarly complex industrial sites over the last several years in New York City, New Jersey, Seattle and San Francisco. Bosch Rexroth had a requirement that fit this location perfectly – highly visible, direct access off of I-77, proximity to the airport and convenient to its labor force. We consider this location the gateway to SouthPark and our entire organization is thrilled to have formed this partnership with a dynamic international company like Bosch Rexroth.”
The new facility will break ground in mid-2023, with a delivery targeted for summer 2024.
